The Xhaka finally completed his switch to Arsenal last week.
But the 23-year-old asked Switzerland team-mate Djourou for his opinion before green lighting the switch.
Djourou said: "He asked me a lot of things about London, about the club and I could only say good things because I had a good experience there.I think the people at the club are just amazing and how they run the club as well."
Djourou also believes Xhaka has all the attributes to become a fan favourite.
"He has got the ability to play the Arsenal way.He has got this aggressiveness about him that ail help him as well in the Premier League.I think he's just a great ball player and a ball winner as well so I think in the midfield he could help a lot.
Djourou also added: "He's got the ability to play very long balls and very precise balls.I always said the way he plays reminds me a bit of [Andrea] Pirlo."
