Arsenal set Sight on Wolfsburg left-back Ricardo Rodriguez as a backup for Monreal.
According to the Reports, Arsene Wenger has sanctioned the move for the player.It is reported to be that we are set to match the player’s release clause which is believed to be in the region of £19m. The 23-year-old has been ever present in the German side since his move from FC Zurich in 2012.
Another solid display last season seems to have confirmed to Wenger that the player is of the required quality.With just three yellow cards in 35 appearances last season, there is no doubt that he would be a darling at Arsenal. Kieran Gibbs failed to make an impact and he lost his place to Nacho Monreal,and it is reported that he could table a transfer request .
Should he leave, a younger player who would peak at a time when Nacho’s slows down will be the best option. Ricardo ticks the required boxes and we can only but wish that this move sees the light of day.
