Calum Chambers on his way back to Southampton on loan to ensure more palying time.
The 21-year-old joined the Gunners from the Saints in 2014, and started 35 games in his debut campaign under Arsene Wenger.
However, his second year turned out to be a forgetful one with young graduate Hector Bellerin being preferred ahead of him for the right-back role.
A report from The Mirror cites that Saints boss Ronald Koeman is eager to add more options to his backline with the challenge of the Europa League on the horizon next season.
It is added that Chambers' is one among the club's top targets, and a temporary move could be finalized during the upcoming transfer window.
Chambers appeared in just 12 league games for the Gunners last season.
